What is the DCBL programme?
The DCBL programme refers to the One-year Diploma Course in Bengali Language offered by the Distance Education Centre under the aegis of Barak Upatyaka Banga Sahitya O Sanskriti Sammelan. It is designed for individuals interested in learning the Bengali language.
Is the DCBL programme recognized by any government authority?
Yes, the DCBL programme is recognized by the Government of Assam. It is accredited under Notifications No. ASE 313/2013/207A dated 01/06/2017 and No. ASE 217/2014/240 dated 08/05/2020.

What is the minimum qualification for admission to DCBL programme?
Minimum qualifications for admission :- Candidates who have passed the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC)/ All India Secondary School (CBSE Class X) Examination of any Board/Council or its equivalent (10th class) examination recognised by the Govt. of Assam are eligible for admission to DCBL programme of study.
Is prior knowledge of Bengali alphabets required for admission?
Yes, basic knowledge of Bengali alphabets and semantics is a prerequisite for entering the DCBL programme. Candidates must be capable of reading, comprehending, and communicating in Bengali with considerable fluency.

What is the admission process for the DCBL programme?
The admission process consists of 3 (three) stages:
- Stage I (ONLINE): REGISTRATION: Interested students need to register through the provided Google Form on the official website https://barakbanga.in.
- Stage II (OFFLINE): ADMISSION TEST: The admission test includes a Written Test and Personal Interview. Only those who pass the Written Test will be called for the Personal Interview.
- Stage III (OFFLINE): ADMISSION: This stage is meant for the selected candidates and involves submitting the Admission Form, document verification and fee payment.
IMPORTANT NOTE :-Students who have opted MIL Bengali as one of their subjects in HSLC or its equivalent examination are exempted from “ADMISSION TEST”- however, they must follow Stage-I (Registration) and Stage-III (Admission) of admission process.
How can I register for the Admission Test of DCBL programme?
You can register for the Admission Test of DCBL programme by filling out the registration form (Google Form) available on the official website https://barakbanga.in during the registration period mentioned in the admission schedule. You have to click REGISTRATION buttom to open the registration form.
What are the requirements for REGISTRATION for Admission Test?
Interested students who are well aware of DCBL programme and the admission process may apply for REGISTRATION to appear before the Admission Test. For that, they have to register their names through registarion process mentied in the admission Notice1. For registration, applicants are advised to keep ready a recent passport-sized color photograph with the following specifications :-
  1. it should possess a minimum resolution of 72 dpi and a maximum file size of 1 MB;
  2. it should have a clear image and a solid background;
  3. it must not be a selfie or an ornamental profile photo.
Further, applicants are to write their all names (self, mother, father) and his/her Date of Birth (DoB) exactly the same as printed / written in his / her Admit Card / Certificate of HSLC or its equivalent examination. No additional letter/s, word/s, punctuation mark/s, space/s is/are acceptable. Date of Birth as printed in applicant's PAN Card / Aadhar Card / Passport / Driving License is acceptable.
What is the amount of Registration Fee?
Registration Fee is Rs. 100/- and you have to pay it during Stage-III of admission process along with Admission Fee. You do not need to pay the Registration Fee during REGISTRATION.

What is the Admission Test for the DCBL programme?
The Admission Test consists of two components: Written Test and Personal Interview. Medium of Admission Test is Bengali.
Where and when will the Written Test be conducted?
The Written Test will be held at 3 (three) centres- Silchar, Karimganj and Hailakandi. Candidates are to choose only 1 (one) centre as ps per their convenience during registartion. The Written Test will is scheduled to be held on a SUNDAY from 11 am to 12 noon- date of which is mentioned in the Admission Schedule.
What may be questions to be asked in the Written Test?
Medium of Admission Test is Bengali and questions are on the basics of Bengali alphabets, numbers, spelling, vocabulary, translation, synonyms, antonyms and sentence composition as well as written and communication skill in Bengali.
গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তথ্য :- বাংলা ভাষা ডিপ্লোমা পাঠক্রমে ভর্তির জন্য বাংলা ভাষার প্রাথমিক জ্ঞান থাকা একটি পূর্বশর্ত। প্রার্থীদের সাবলীল ভাবে বাংলা পড়তে, বুঝতে ও লিখতে সক্ষম হতে হবে। ভর্তি পরীক্ষার (লিখিত ও ব্যক্তিগত সাক্ষাৎকার) মাধ্যম হল বাংলা। লিখিত পরীক্ষাতে বাংলা হস্তলিপি এবং বাংলা ভাষার নিম্নলিখিত বিষয়ের উপর গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হবে:

What are the pass marks and duration for the Written Test?
For the Written Test, the pass marks is 15 out of 30 , and the duration is one hour.
How can I get the Admit Card for the Written Test?
You can download and print the Admit Card from the official website https://barakbanga.in on and from the date mentioned in the Admission Schedule. Link will be provided on the scheduled date.
Who will be allowed to appear in the Personal Interview?
Only those candidates who successfully pass the Written Test will be called for Personal Interview.
Can someone else appear for the Personal Interview on my behalf?
No.
Where and when will the Personal Interview be conducted?
The Personal Interview will be held at Banga Bhawan, Silchar. The dates for the interviews will be announced along with the release of the Written Test results, and these will be scheduled according to Roll Numbers of the Admission Test.
What may be questions to be asked during Personal Interview?
During Personal Interview, questions will be on the basic knowledge of Bengali alphabets and comprehension. More emphasis will be given on reading, writing and verbal communications in Bengali.
What is the pass marks Personal Interview?
For the Personal Interview, the pass marks is 10 out of 20.

Who will be selected for admission to DCBL programme after the Admission Test?
Admission Test consists of two integral components: Written Test and Personal Interview. These components will be collectively used to assess a candidate's eligibility for admission. Hence, the final list of selected candidates for admission to DCBL programme will be based on combined performance in both Written Test and Personal Interview. This selection list, along with admission dates, will be published as per the schedule.
What is the Satge-III of admission process?
Stage III of admission process is the actual admission to the programme. During the process, your Application Form will be verfied with original academic documents. Admission Fee will be collected during Stage-III.
What documents are required for the admission stage?
During the admission stage, candidates need to bring the following items:
- Completely filled Admission Form;
- 2 passport size recent color photographs as submitted during Registration;
- Self-attested photocopies of HSLC (or its equivalent) Admit Card, Mark Sheet, and Pass Certificate;
- Original copies of HSLC (or its equivalent) Admit Card, Mark Sheet, and Pass Certificate;
- Requisite amount of fees [Total: Rs. 6,100/- (Admission Fee: Rs. 6,000/- + Registration Fee: Rs. 100/-).]

Total amount of Fee is Rs. 6,100/-. The amount consists of Admission Fee of Rs. 6,000/- and the Registration Fee of Rs. 100/-.
Fees either in cash or cheque is to be deposied only at the Cash Counter of the office at Banga Bhawan, Silchar. Receipt of the payment of fee is to be preserved for future use.
How can I pay the admission fees?
The admission fees can be paid in cash or by crossed cheque drawn in favor of Distance Education Centre, BUBSOSS, A/c No. 00800110056042, UCO BANK, SILCHAR.
Fees either in cash or cheque is to be deposied only at the Cash Counter of the office at Banga Bhawan, Silchar. Receipt of the payment of fee is to be preserved for future use.
Is it necessary to appear personally for admission during Stage-III of admission process?
Yes, selected candidates are to appear personally before the Admission Committee for verification of documents. However, selected candidates who are unable to attend personally before the Admission Committee may authorize a person to appear before the Admission Committee along with Authority Letter and all required items.
