Admission to DCBL programme for the session 2024-2025
Admission Process

Distance Education Centre, Banga Bhawan, Silchar under the aegis of Barak Upatyaka Banga Sahitya O Sanskriti Sammelan conducts One-year Diploma Course in Bengali Language (DCBL). The programme is recognised by the Govt. of Assam vide Notifications No. ASE 313/2013/207A dated 01/06/2017 and No. ASE 217/2014/240 dated 08/05/2020. Minimum qualification for admission to DCBL programme is a PASS in HSLC or its equivalent examination from any recognized board/council.

Admission to DCBL is a 3-stage process and consists of:
Stage-I: (Online): Registration (23 Aug. - 01 Sept., 2024),
Stage-II: (Offline): Admission Test (consisting of Written Test & Personal Interview) and
Stage-III: (Offline): Admission (Submission of Admission Form, Verification of Academic Documents and Payment of Admission Fee).

Stage-I: (Online): Registration:
23 August 2024 to 01 Septemeber 2024:
Registration for admission to DCBL programme will be accepted through Google Form- link of the form is provided above,click the link for Registration. Link will remain active from 23 August 2024 to 01 Septemeber 2024.
Applicants are advised to keep ready a recent passport-sized color photograph with the following specifications :-
(i)   it should possess a minimum resolution of 72 dpi and a maximum file size of 1 MB.
(ii)  it should have a clear image and a solid background;
(iii) it must not be a selfie or an ornamental profile photo;
List of Registered applicants will be published on 05 September 2024 (3 pm) along with their Admit Cards and will be available in this website.



Stage-II: (Offline): Admission Test (consisting of Written Test & Personal Interview)
WRITTEN TEST (WT) (Offline: pen & paper mode) is scheduled to be held on SUNDAY, 08 September 2024 (11-30 am to 12-30 pm)

Admission Test consists of two integral components: Written Test (WT) and Personal Interview (PI). These components will be collectively used to assess a candidate's eligibility for admission.

গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তথ্য: বাংলা ভাষা ডিপ্লোমা পাঠক্রমে ভর্তির জন্য বাংলা ভাষার প্রাথমিক জ্ঞান থাকা একটি পূর্বশর্ত। প্রার্থীদের সাবলীল ভাবে বাংলা পড়তে, বুঝতে ও লিখতে সক্ষম হতে হবে। ভর্তি পরীক্ষার (লিখিত ও ব্যক্তিগত সাক্ষাৎকার) মাধ্যম হল বাংলা। লিখিত পরীক্ষাতে বাংলা হস্তলিপি এবং বাংলা ভাষার নিম্নলিখিত বিষয়ের উপর গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হবে: অক্ষরজ্ঞান, সংখ্যা, বানান, শব্দার্থ (ইংরেজি-বাংলা, বাংলা-ইংরেজি), অনুবাদ (ইংরেজি-বাংলা, বাংলা-ইংরেজি), সমার্থক শব্দ, বিপরীতার্থক শব্দ এবং বাক্য রচনা।
ব্যক্তিগত সাক্ষাৎকারে বাংলা পঠন, বাংলায় কথোপকথন এবং বাংলা হস্তলিপির উপর বেশি গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হবে।

WRITTEN TEST (WT):
Full marks: 30, Pass marks: 15 and duration: 1 (one) hour;
DCBL programme never intends to teach Bengali alphabets and proceed forward. Basic knowledge of Bengali alphabets and semantics is a prerequisite for entering into the programme. Candidates must be capable of reading, comprehending and communicating in Bengali with considerable fluency. Medium of Admission Test is Bengali and questions are on the basics of Bengali alphabets, numbers, spelling, vocabulary, translation, synonyms, antonyms and sentence composition as well as written and communication skill in Bengali.
Result of the WRITTEN TEST (WT) will be published as per the schedule and will be available in this website.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW (PI):
Personal Interview (PI) :   Full marks: 20 and Pass marks: 10.
Only those candidates who successfully pass the Written Test will be called for Personal Interview (PI) to be held at Banga Bhawan, Silchar. Dates for the Personal Interviews will be announced simultaneously with the release of Written Test results, and it will be held serially according to Roll Numbers, scheduled for each day. The final list of selected candidates for admission to DCBL programme will be based on combined performance in both Written Test and Personal Interview. This selection list, along with admission dates, will be published as per the schedule.

Important Note: Students who have opted MIL Bengali as one of their subjects in HSLC or its equivalent examination are exempted from “ADMISSION TEST”- however, they must follow Stage-I (Registration) and Stage-III (Admission) of admission process.



Stage – III (offline): (to be held at BANGA BHAWAN, SILCHAR): ADMISSION
(submission of Admission Form, verification of documents and payment of fees)
03 October 2024 to 05 October 2024 (11 am to 3 pm):
The selected candidates are to appear personally before the Admission Committee at BANGA BHAVAN, SILCHAR on the scheduled date and time along with the following items:
(A) completely filled in Admission Form;
(Blank admission form will be available at https://barakbanga.in from 05 ─ 08 Oct., 2024)
(B) 3 copies of passport size recent colour photographs;
(same photograph as submitted during Registration- one copy to be pasted on the Form)
(C) self-attested photocopies Admit Card, Mark Sheet and Pass Certificate-
of HSLC or its equivalent examination;
(D) original copies of Admit Card, Mark Sheet and Pass Certificate-
of HSLC or its equivalent examination and
(E) requisite amount of fees (Rs. 6,100/-) to be paid either through UPI or by crossed cheque drawn in favour of :
Distance Education Centre, BUBSOSS;
A/c No. 00800110056042 : UCO BANK, SILCHAR.
NOTES:
1. Selected candidates who are unable to appear personally before the Admission Committee may authorize a person to appear before the Admission Committee along with Authority Letter and all items as mentioned above.
2. Admission for the applicants whose permanent residence is situated outside the districts of Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi or in any neighbouring state may be completed on the day of Admission Test itself (08 September 2024), if otherwise they qualify for admission. However, such applicants must follow all the stages of admission process mentioned in the Admission Notice-1.
Further, they need to choose SILCHAR as their preferred examination center and to show documentary evidence (Passport / Voter’s ID / Driving License / Employee’s ID) during Stage-III of admission process.
They are advised to inform (Help Desk at the mobile number 60030 87256 on any working day between 11 am and 3 pm) their willingness to avail this facility.
